As a book critic and blogger, I’ve been fortunate enough to attend a number of book festivals up and down the UK over the last five and a half years.

I launched the Great Big Book Festival Survey to see if my own observations matched up with the experiences of other attendees.

I also wanted to survey people who’ve never been to a book festival before, to see what organisers can do to better reach people, and ultimately get more people excited about them.

The Survey features insights from 128 UK readers on their attitudes towards book festivals. All the findings are now in, including analysis of readers’ favourite types of events and the potential barriers to attending.
